Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Marylin Diaz, MA, BCBA
Marylin is a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a strong foundation in psychology and applied behavior analysis. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and her Master’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida State University.
Her professional journey began with hands-on research experience under the mentorship of leading experts, including Dr. Brian Iwata and Dr. Timothy Vollmer. During this time, she developed a strong clinical skill set in conducting functional analyses, data collection, and behavioral assessment. She gained early practical experience working with children at Sidney Lanier School and the Florida Autism Center, supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities.
Since 2015, Marylin has worked as a direct therapist across a variety of settings, including clinics, homes, schools, and community environments. She has provided services to individuals ranging from ages 2 to 18, and later expanded her work to include adults through Medicaid waiver programs in group homes, day programs, and residential facilities.
After becoming a BCBA in 2018, she broadened her impact through roles that include behavior consultation for school districts, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, parent training, and empowering families to advocate effectively for their loved ones. She is trained in practical functional assessment and skill-based treatment, with a focus on supporting individuals with severe maladaptive behaviors. In addition, she is passionate about mentoring and supervising future behavior analysts as they work toward certification.
Marylin’s favorite part of her work is witnessing clients “graduate” from services after achieving meaningful, lasting progress. She is especially passionate about the problem-solving and individualized nature of ABA, and the opportunity it provides to create meaningful change in people’s lives.
She lives by the philosophy: “Do what’s right, even when no one is watching.”
Outside of her professional life, Marylin is an avid traveler and food enthusiast who has explored 17 countries and enjoys experiencing new cultures and cuisines around the world.
