Registered Behavior Technician

Karina Buttler-Pena, BA
Ikeisha

Karina Buttler-Pena is a Registered Behavior Technician with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is currently aspiring to advance her education by pursuing a Master’s or PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology and obtaining a BCBA certification. Her goal is to deepen her expertise and make a significant impact in the field of behavior analysis and clinical psychology.

Karina has experience working with children aged 1 to 16 in a variety of settings, including office, home, and community environments. She has provided support to children with a wide range of conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, developmental disabilities, seizure disorders, anxiety disorders, sensory processing disorders, eating disorders, and sleep disorders.

Her favorite part of the job is Natural Environment Teaching (NET). Karina finds joy in seeing how much children can learn through engaging in new activities and interests in natural settings, whether with their RBTs or peers.

Her personal philosophy is to “treat others with the same compassion that I would like to be treated with,” and she embraces the idea that there is always more to learn. In ABA, Karina is particularly motivated by witnessing children acquire new skills and the happiness that comes from celebrating these achievements with them.

Outside of work, Karina loves traveling and is excited to explore Florida, as she is new to the state. She has a dog and a cat and enjoys gardening, playing video games, and fixing electronics. With a passion for learning new things, Karina is always eager to discover new experiences and is open to recommendations for places to visit and things to do in Florida.
